Remove C2PA, EXIF, GPS, AI Meta in One Click
Photos, videos, PDFs and AI-written text all carry hidden trails — GPS coordinates, device serials, author names, C2PA provenance and zero-width watermarks. Drop a file in and strip it, right here, before it ever leaves your device.

What C2PACleaner removes
Four kinds of hidden data, removed in a single pass.
C2PA credentials
Detects and removes the Content Credentials manifest that AI tools embed to disclose the model and account behind a file.
Photos & video
EXIF, GPS coordinates, camera serials and timestamps — removed losslessly from JPEG, PNG, WebP, MP4 and MOV.
PDF documents
Author, title, producer and embedded XMP packets cleared, while every page stays byte-for-byte identical.
ChatGPT text
Zero-width spaces, word joiners and the smart-punctuation tells that flag text as AI-generated — gone.
Three steps, zero uploads
Drop it in
Choose a photo, video or PDF, or paste your text. Up to 20 files at a time.
See what's hidden
Every GPS point, device ID and provenance tag is laid out before you touch a thing.
Download clean
Get the stripped file back instantly — no account, no upload, no trace left behind.
Private by default, not by promise
No servers, no accounts — the architecture is the privacy policy.
Nothing to leak
There's no server in the loop, so there's nothing to log, retain or breach.
Instant & lossless
Cleaning is surgical — only the metadata goes; pixels and quality are untouched.
No account, ever

Questions, answered
What is C2PACleaner?
C2PACleaner is a free, on-device tool that strips the hidden data your files carry — EXIF, GPS coordinates, device serials, C2PA Content Credentials, and the invisible characters that mark AI-generated text. It runs entirely in your browser (with an iPhone app on the way), so files are cleaned without ever being uploaded.
How does C2PACleaner remove AI watermarks?
There are two kinds. In images, AI generators embed a C2PA Content Credentials manifest (and sometimes EXIF) that flags the file as AI-made — C2PACleaner detects that manifest and removes it. In text, AI models often insert invisible Unicode characters (zero-width spaces, word joiners) plus tell-tale “smart” punctuation; the Text tool clears those so it reads as plain writing. Note: a visible watermark painted into the pixels is not metadata and can't be removed this way.
Does C2PACleaner upload my data?
No. All reading and cleaning happens locally in your browser, with no server in the loop. Your photos, videos, PDFs and text are never uploaded, stored or logged by us, and they're cleared from memory the moment you close the tab. No account, no sign-in.
What is C2PA / Content Credentials?
An open standard backed by Adobe, Google, OpenAI and others that embeds a cryptographically signed record of a file's origin and edit history — increasingly attached to AI-generated images to disclose the tool and account behind them. C2PACleaner detects this embedded manifest and removes it locally. (Some platforms also keep a server-side hash copy that no client-side tool can touch.)
How do Instagram and Xiaohongshu label content as AI-generated?
Platforms increasingly auto-tag AI media. Instagram (Meta) reads embedded C2PA / IPTC provenance metadata and other signals to add an “AI info” label; Xiaohongshu (RED) similarly flags suspected AI images and text and asks creators to self-declare. Because these checks lean on the provenance metadata inside the file, removing the C2PA manifest and AI markers before you upload reduces the chance of an automatic label — though platforms may also apply server-side hashes or visual classifiers that no client-side tool can affect.
